Natural Šaljić balm for burns
Melop G - Šaljić balm for second- and third-degree burns, as well as for other wounds of different origin where skin damage has occurred.
The balm is intended for the healing of skin wounds on the face and body caused by various agents (fire, chemicals, physical injuries, etc.).
Melop G is a natural burn balm based on the original recipe of Jovan Šaljić.

Melop G is a natural burn balm based on the traditional recipe of herbalist Jovan Šaljić. Melop G is a dispersed extract of medicinal plants from the latest harvest in a semi-solid fatty base of beeswax and unrefined olive oil.
Melop G instructions for use
The person providing care must first disinfect their hands – this can be done by washing thoroughly in warm water, with soap and using a brush.
After washing, the hands should be dried with sterile gauze and then disinfected using diluted alcohol (70% ethanol). Clean the area around the wound in a width of about 5 cm with sterile gauze soaked with diluted alcohol.
Wash the wound with 3% hydrogen peroxide solution, and in more severe cases (where the skin has been removed) with sterile saline solution as well.
If there are blisters on the burned skin, they should be pierced with a sterile needle and the liquid should be gently pressed out; then the skin needs to be wiped again with diluted alcohol.
With a sterile spatula (knife), apply a layer of balm about 1–2 mm thick onto the four-layer sterile gauze, slightly larger than the size of the wound.
Place the prepared gauze on the wound so that the balm layer is in full contact with it.
To ensure that the gauze remains in close contact with the wound, secure the gauze with a bandage without tightening or with an adhesive strip, whichever is more comfortable, depending on the wound position. Once the balm is applied onto the wound, the pain starts to decrease, and in a relatively short period it disappears completely.
Repeat the entire procedure with new sterile gauze every 24 hours.
As healing progresses, the wound area shrinks, so the balm should be applied only to the remaining unhealed part. You do not have to apply the balm onto the healed part.
Once the wound has closed and a new skin layer has formed, further treatment should be continued with Melop E by applying the balm onto the healed part of the burn using a gauze or cotton pad and ensuring that the young skin is always covered by the balm. You should continue applying Melop E until the redness has completely subsided and the skin has returned to normal.

The balm is in a semi-solid fatty base. Due to its exceptional therapeutic composition, it has anti-inflammatory, antiseptic and antimicrobial effects.
In addition to its primary use for second- and third-degree burns, the balm can help a lot in the treatment of wounds with damaged skin structure and chronic wounds.
Melop promotes wound healing. As the balm is very effective, after applying wound dressings for a couple of times you will be able to see the beginning of tissue granulation (new skin or scar tissue).

Disinfect your hands and skin around the wound using sterile gauze soaked with alcohol (70% ethanol).
Wash the wound with hydrogen peroxide solution (3%), and in more severe cases with sterile saline solution as well.
If there are any blisters, pierce them with a needle, gently squeeze out the liquid and disinfect again with hydrogen peroxide.
With a sterile spatula, apply a layer of balm about 1–2 mm thick onto the four-layer sterile gauze, and place it over the wound so that it is entirely covered by the balm. Secure with a bandage. Repeat the entire procedure every 24 hours.
As the wound heals, it shrinks, so limit the coating only to the unhealed part of the wound.
When the wound heals and the new skin is formed, further treatment should be continued with Melop E so that the new skin is always covered by the balm. Continue the treatment until the redness has completely subsided and the skin has returned to normal.

Unrefined olive oil (Olea europaea fruit oil) is the base of all Šaljić balms, as one of ideal base oils for dissolving other herbal ingredients. Olive oil provides unsaturated fatty acids and vitamins. It is excellent for massage and ensures easy and even product application onto the skin. Olive oil is an excellent choice for dry skin care.
Olive oil is present in all Šaljić balms.

Beeswax (Cera alba) has a series of valuable, beneficial properties: it creates a protective film on the skin that prevents water loss, and has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial effects. As a base for the balm, it preserves the other ingredients and gives structure to the balm. Natural wax has been traditionally used for balms for centuries, and science knows that it contains fatty acids that help restore the skin surface and antioxidant flavonoids that protect against damage.
In Šaljić balms, beeswax is a base for the famous balm for burns, Melop G.

Yarrow (Achillea millefolium) is known as a medicinal plant in the traditions of numerous peoples, from Slavic to Germanic, and in our herbalist tradition it has been used to heal wounds and stop bleeding, for antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory action.
Science has proven that yarrow contains a whole range of therapeutic ingredients, phytosterols, flavonoids and vitamins A and C. In Šaljić balms, yarrow is part of the recipe for the well-known Šaljić burn treatment balm, Melop G.

Our products are the result of decades of experience and dedication tonatural skin care.
